Your Role & Team

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of Account Managers/ BDMs focused on driving Net Revenue Retention (NRR) across a defined portfolio of existing customers. This role owns outcomes across gross retention, renewals, usage‑led expansion, product adoption, price execution and competitive defence, ensuring customers realise increasing value from CreditorWatch over time. 

The Sales Manager is both strategic and hands‑on, translating the Growth strategy into clear commercial rhythms, coaching your team in value‑based conversations, and embedding disciplined renewal and expansion execution. You will build repeatable playbooks for renewals, upsell and expansion, and partner closely with another expansion team.  

You will be fully accountable for portfolio performance, team capability, renewal governance and expansion outcomes, and for lifting the quality and consistency of customer conversations across your team. 

Some of your responsibilities include and are not limited to: 

  • Proven people leader with experience coaching AMs/ BDMs to deliver strong GRR and NRR outcomes  
  • Highly commercial and structured, with a deep understanding of renewals, expansion mechanics and portfolio economics  
  • Ability to forecast renewals, cancellation and expansion results on a monthly basis.  
  • Strong capability in value‑based selling, objection handling, pricing conversations and competitive defence  
  • Analytical and data‑driven; comfortable using CRM, health scores, usage signals and cohort analysis to guide action  
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to translate product usage and data insights into compelling customer narratives  
  • Strong operational discipline — able to run forecasting cadences, pipeline reviews and renewal governance at pace  
  • Builder mindset, develops playbooks, processes and standards that scale across teams and portfolios  
  • Collaborative operator who partners effectively with Growth leadership, RevOps, Product, Marketing and Data  
Our Ideal Candidate  

To be successful in this role, you'll have 3+ years of SaaS SMB/ retention leadership experience, with demonstrable GRR/ NRR outcomes in high volume portfolios. You will be strong in usage led retention, renewal processes, save strategies, and competitive defence. Confidence using SalesForce (or equivalent), cohort analysis and portfolio health modelling are essential.

Previous exposure to fintech/ credit/ risk of workflow SaaS is a huge bonus and would help you succeed in the role, along with change management experience. You will also need to be commercially sharp with deep understanding of GRR/NRR mechanics.
