As our Senior Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and building the platforms that power analytics, reporting, and data-driven decisions across the business worldwide. This is a chance to shape and scale CMC’s core data platform, not just contribute to it. You’ll design and engineer robust, cloud-ready data solutions, set best-in-class engineering standards, and influence how data is used across a truly global organisation.
You’ll work as a trusted technical partner to the APAC BI & Data team while collaborating closely with squads across CMC, giving you real visibility, influence, and the opportunity to see your work drive tangible business outcomes.

What you’ll be working on
- Work as part of a global data platform team to develop and maintain CMC’s modern data platform.
- Work closely with BI developers, business analysts and internal stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver data in a secure, scalable and efficient way for the whole company
- Build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to deliver relevant and timely data to our users
- Develop and optimise ELT processes to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance by implementing and adhering to best practices across the entire data lifecycle
- Participate in our on-call rota to monitor data pipelines and infrastructure, troubleshooting issues as they arise to deliver a robust platform for our critical internal use cases
- Implement and enforce data security and compliance measures across the entire data platform and guide other teams to do the same
What will help you be successful?
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS services e.g. S3, VPC, IAM, Glue, Step function etc
- Proven experience in developing and deploying ETL data pipelines over cloud (AWS preferred), hands-on experience with AWS DMS and Airflow is preferable
- Proven hands-on experience with cloud data warehousing solutions.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash)
- Cloud DWH solution with Snowflake
- GitHub, CI/CD process on ETL data pipeline
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
