What You’ll Do

Global Networks & Technology - Commercial Engineering designs and delivers Telstra's commercial solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of its customers and partners.

Responsibilities of the Role
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define, document, and refine software and system requirements

  • Work closely with the Sensors engineering team to align software functionality with hardware capabilities and ensure seamless sensor integration.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and user-friendly mobile and web applications supporting both internal operations and external clients.

  • Support and maintain deployed applications, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and usability.

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to streamline delivery and improve software quality.

  • Review and uplift existing tools and systems to maintain compliance with Essential 8, Privacy, and Telstra’s security standards.

  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and post-deployment support for IoT device communication, authentication, and data processing.

  • Continuously enhance application performance, scalability, and security through proactive analysis and process improvement.

  • Test and deploy software solutions (Internal and web client facing) with appropriate security and functionality

  • Provide support to end users of the developed toolsets to ensure fit for purpose functionality and efficient operation

About you

You will have skills and experiences in these areas:

  • Developing cross-platform mobile applications using .NET MAUI for Android and iOS.

  • Integrating mobile apps with authentication protocols (OIDC, Caiman) and enabling secure cloud interactions via REST APIs. Interfacing with external devices through Bluetooth and NFC, with the ability to customize communication protocols for specific IoT device requirements.

  • Working with Cumulocity IoT platform to model, streamline, and process data, leveraging Analytics Builder for event generation and insights.

  • Designing and deploying Event Processing Language (EPL) applications to monitor and respond to IoT device states.

  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing app analytics and distribution through MDM platforms for .NET MAUI applications.

  • Establishing secure development environments and pipelines that address vulnerabilities via tools like Coverity and Veracode.

  • Developing and optimizing remote communication protocols to facilitate robust data exchange between mobile applications and IoT devices.
