Job Description

We’re seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner – Trade to join our Commercial Finance team in a high-impact, senior individual contributor role.

Reporting to the GM Commercial Finance – Trade, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, delivering financial insight, performance challenge and strategic support across a complex, multi-site business.

This is a commercially focused role with broad exposure across operations, sales, merchandise and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Trade to provide commercial insights, challenge and decision support
  • Deliver high-quality analysis and actionable insights to drive profitability and performance
  • Lead financial evaluation of investment proposals, including business cases and Investment Committee papers
  • Support acquisition activity including commercial analysis, valuation support and due diligence
  • Provide performance analysis across store operations, including profitability, labour, pricing and product mix
  • Evaluate promotions, sales effectiveness and merchandising performance to optimise outcomes
  • Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards and data-driven insights leveraging automation and AI tools
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and performance reviews, challenging assumptions and improving accountability

Qualifications

You’re a commercially astute finance professional who thrives on influencing outcomes and working closely with the business.

You will bring:

  • CA/CPA qualification with a relevant degree
  • Strong experience in commercial finance or business partnering roles
  • Proven ability to support and influence senior stakeholders in complex environments
  • Advanced analytical, modelling and Excel skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in performance improvement and investment evaluation
  • Experience leveraging data, analytics and emerging technologies (including AI)
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
