NTT DATA is looking for a Senior Gen AI Developer to deliver projects across AI transformation initiatives within top organisations in Australia.

Position Overview

The Senior Generative AI Developer will focus on building, scaling, and deploying cutting-edge LLM applications natively within the Google Cloud Platform. This role requires an engineer who can translate advanced prompt engineering techniques and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures into high-performance production environments using GCP’s premiere ML tooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Development: Design, build, and deploy highly scalable Generative AI and LLM-based production solutions natively on GCP.
  • RAG Implementation: Architect and maintain advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using vector databases like Vertex Matching Engine, Pinecone, or Chroma.
  • API & Microservices Engineering: Develop high-throughput, scalable APIs (via FastAPI, Flask, etc.) and microservices to integrate advanced AI models into foundational business soft.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with data scientists, product managers, and business teams to define, refine, and execute organizational GenAI strategies.
  • Optimization & Performance: Apply advanced prompt engineering, model optimization, and rigorous performance evaluation methodologies to ensure application reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Professional Experience: Typically 3–7 years of software experience, with a heavy emphasis on Generative AI and LLM application architectures.
  • Programming Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Python, with a strong focus on object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and clean, maintainable coding standards.
  • Deep GCP Expertise: Hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, specifically Vertex AI (Model Garden, tuning, pipelines), BigQuery ML, and associated AI services.
  • AI Toolkits & Frameworks: Familiarity with modern LLM frameworks, including Google ADK, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
  • Infrastructure & MLOps: Knowledge of MLOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform is highly advantageous.
