Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join Samsung Electronics Australia!

Role and Responsibilities

  • Providing advice to the business on a broad range of legal matters including: general corporate and commercial advice, employment law, insolvency and securities law, competition and consumer laws, intellectual property, privacy and general litigation matters.
  • Negotiating, reviewing and drafting agreements for all levels of the business in relation to broad and wide-ranging issues affecting all business operations.
  • Reviewing marketing, website and Facebook materials.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of Samsung Legal compliance program
  • Ongoing preparation of compliance related training materials and provision of face-to-face training for staff across the business in connection with relevant compliance-based issues

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years PQE.
  • Previous experience in each of the areas of law detailed above, gained in a top tier law firm or in an in-house environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters independently in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Experience in dealing with all staffing levels and management (from board level to junior staff).
  • You are energized by working as part of a close knit team and sharing knowledge

This role is employed via our workforce partner P2P, but you’ll work directly within Samsung Australia as a part of our one, onsite team enjoying the same environment, culture, and benefits.

Ways of Working
This role is based onsite 5 days per week at our Sydney Olympic Park office. While that structure keeps us connected, we do remain a flexible employer for life’s moments!

The nature of this role and level of responsibility may require reasonable additional hours over and above 37.5 hours per week and may also require work outside of ordinary hours.
