Join Zip’s Technology function, responsible for building and maintaining seamless, secure, and sustainable platforms that enable customers to shop with confidence and merchant partners to grow their brands.

As part of the Payments squad, you will work with a broad remit for products ranging from Card lifecycle management and Open Banking to integration with New Payment Platforms and Payment Gateways. Our team works with the very latest tech to solve complex, interesting challenges at scale, with the backing of a tight-knit team.

What you’ll own

  • Deliver the Engineering and Product roadmap as a key member of a high-performing squad.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Managers in a triad to discover and validate technical problems.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by following engineering best practices and delivering quality-focused solutions.
  • Ensure system reliability through monitoring, alerting best practices, and a security-first mindset.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Experience in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot, and solid experience with relational databases like SQL Server or Postgres.
  • Proven experience with Agile Development, Design Patterns, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working with and deploying services to AWS.
  • Exposure to microservice & event-based architectures (Kafka)
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow.
  • An aptitude for identifying and managing risks, understanding that we are all leaders at Zip.
