About Us

At Splend, we're on a mission to fundamentally change the way people own and operate a vehicle. With a strategic focus on rideshare, we provide our customers with straightforward, no-strings-attached access to vehicle ownership. But we aren't just about vehicle ownership. We're also fast-tracking the transition to green mobility, leading the way globally in reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector by transitioning our fleet to electric vehicles.

You'll be excited to work in this role if...
  • You want to lead fleet maintenance operations, improving safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • You enjoy driving performance, managing workflow, and optimising resources to maximise efficiency and deliver consistently high-quality outcomes.
  • You thrive in a hands-on environment where your technical expertise, organisation, and accountability are valued.
 About the role

As a Workshop Controller, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our fleet maintenance operations run safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standard. Reporting to the National Maintenance Manager, you’ll coordinate workshop activities, manage throughput, and ensure resources are allocated effectively to maximise vehicle uptime and customer satisfaction.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who thrives on organisation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing workshop organisation, bay allocation, shift planning, and work scheduling
    • Coordinating job flow to achieve timely turnaround and firsttime quality repairs

    • Enforcing standard operating procedures and maintaining high housekeeping standards

    • Ensuring safety compliance through risk assessments, hazard identification, and lockout/tagout procedures

    • Monitoring KPIs including turnaround times, quality outcomes, and maintenance efficiency

    • Controlling maintenance costs through planned maintenance, standard job plans, and OEM/warranty support

    • Managing supplier interactions, including parts ordering, leadtime coordination, and performance monitoring

    • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and demand planning activities

    • Driving continuous improvement through process mapping, root cause analysis, and SOP development

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years in workshop or service operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or control role
    • Handson technical experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive, or equipment maintenance

    • Proven ability to manage workshop scheduling, resource allocation, and job throughput

    • Experience with cost control, KPIdriven performance management, and budgeting

    • Exposure to parts/inventory control, suppliers, and external vendor management

    • Strong understanding of safety systems, compliance, and incident investigation

    • Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements (Lean, TPM, or similar frameworks)
