Your Team
The Supplier and Finance Operations team sit within the broader Finance and Fund Services (F&FS) division. The Category Manager – IT, reports to the Senior Manager – IT Procurement and is accountable for delivering savings and value through collaboration with Business Owners and Suppliers. This will be achieved through deep understanding of organisational demand, industry trends and commercial levers. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining and executing on Category Strategies, including sourcing, contracting, performance management and supplier development.
Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to and maintain the IT Category Strategy, underpinned by spend data, business requirements and demand as well as in-depth knowledge of the supply market and industry trends.
- Lead market engagement activities within a regulated environment as required by the business or in line with the Category Strategy, including renewals, RFx activities, negotiations, and other contracts.
- Provide expert advice to your category stakeholders on all elements of category management including sourcing strategy, negotiation approaches, managing supplier performance, and managing supply risk.
- Collaborate with your stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of Category Initiatives through transition planning activities, contract management plans and establishing a cadence for supplier governance.
- Achieve formal buy-in from key stakeholders to support Category Strategies and participate in key sourcing, contracting and supplier initiatives to deliver category outcomes.
- Engage with incumbent and prospective suppliers to build and maintain industry and supply market expertise. Support the Senior Manager in facilitating executive level supplier management meetings.
- Report on progress and benefits to stakeholders and direct reporting line senior stakeholder group (Director of Procurement)
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager so that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant CFS policies and external regulatory requirements.
Your Capability and Experience
- Understanding of the regulated environment of superannuation
- 5+ years in a sourcing or procurement role with an IT focus
- Experience developing Category Strategies
- Experience executing Category Initiatives through to implementation
- Experience in managing relationships with senior stakeholders
- Experience in managing IT supplier contracts, relationships and performance
- Experience in reviewing contracts and drafting Statements of Work
- High attention to detail and appreciation of broader business context and direction
- Strong commercial acumen
- Demonstrable ability to manage, lead and deliver small projects
- Demonstrable problem-solving capability
