The Purpose

As a Cloud Engineer at AP+, you'll help run and continuously improve the cloud and infrastructure services behind Australia's digital payments platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on provisioning, configuring, operating and optimising secure, reliable infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. You'll work across day-to-day operations, automation, performance, security and change to help keep critical services resilient and ready for what comes next.

Key Responsibilities the Role Owns:

  • Provision, deploy and configure cloud and infrastructure services in line with architecture standards, security requirements and operational procedures.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and security events, troubleshoot operational issues and help maintain reliable, high-performing services.
  • Own core operational activities including system maintenance, patching, backups, restorations, installation, testing and decommissioning of infrastructure components.
  • Automate routine system administration and infrastructure activities using scripting and standard tooling to improve efficiency, consistency and reliability.
  • Support controlled infrastructure change, configuration management and storage activities, ensuring changes are assessed, documented and implemented safely.
  • Work closely with engineers, service management teams and stakeholders to improve operational procedures, infrastructure standards and service outcomes.

You’ll likely be a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • Hands-on experience supporting and operating cloud and/or hybrid infrastructure within an enterprise environment.
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms and services, including IaaS/PaaS, alongside virtualisation, storage and infrastructure automation tooling.
  • Practical experience monitoring infrastructure, diagnosing operational issues and supporting system installation, maintenance and change activities.
  • Ability to automate repeatable administration tasks using scripting and standard tools, with a mindset focused on reliability and continuous improvement.
  • An understanding of configuration management, change control and security practices, ideally within a regulated, critical or high-availability technology environment.
  • A collaborative, disciplined approach to engineering and documentation, and can work effectively across technical and service teams to deliver dependable infrastructure outcomes.

What happens next:

At AP+, we believe in the power of passion, pride and purpose. Our team is driven by a shared mission to make a difference in the world of payments, and we're proud to work together towards this common goal.

If you're a hands-on cloud engineer who enjoys making infrastructure more secure, reliable and automated - and wants to work on technology that Australians rely on every day - we'd love to hear from you.

If you’re ready to be a game changer, please submit your application. The Talent Acquisition team will endeavour to review your application and notify you of the outcome within the next two weeks.
