JOB SUMMARY

Arch LMI Pty Ltd (“Arch LMI”) is part of group that is an APRA-licensed provider of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (“LMI”).  Arch LMI is an Australian-domiciled subsidiary of Arch Financial Holdings Pty Ltd and its ultimate parent is Arch Capital Group Ltd (“ACGL”), a S&P 500 NASDAQ-listed global provider of insurance and reinsurance across a variety of product classes.

The Finance Manager will be part of a vibrant rapidly growing team and company. The role will primarily focus on financial control and a variety of end-to-end Finance functions including strategy and analysis, monitoring, accounting and reporting.

The Finance Manager reports directly to the Head of Finance of Arch LMI.

Essential RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Responsible for developing and maintaining models and/or spreadsheets for financial forecasting and analysis

2. Prepare financial analyses and dashboards such as cash flow reports, financial management report or any other financial reports as required by the Head of Finance

3. Develop and continuously evaluate short and long-term qualitative and quantitative financial strategic objectives

4. Provide insight into operational performance through in-depth analyses of financial data.

5. Identify, lead and manage Finance process improvement opportunities

6. Monthly, quarterly and annual Finance processes (including statutory, regulatory, group and management reporting) as required.

7. Prepare financial statements and regulatory returns as required.

8. Manage and respond to information requests from internal and external auditors as required.

9. Work with other Arch Capital Group companies to ensure compliance with inter-company arrangements, and to provide other ad-hoc assistance as required.

10. Ensure financial policy and internal control compliance is maintained

11. Finance ad-hoc tasks as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Skills:

1. Strong analytical, monitoring and reporting skills

2. Ability to work with and interpret complex financial data

3. Demonstrated ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives

4. Excellent communication skills in written and verbal formats

5. Ability to address broad range of audiences including directors, senior management, external stakeholders and technical experts

6. Proven ability to work with and handle personal and confidential information with absolute discretion

7. Focus on client and customer service

8. Strong inter-personal skills and willingness/ ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team

9. Professional maturity and confidence

10. Bias towards action and self-direction

11. Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity

The following knowledge/experience is highly desirable but not essential:

1. Proficiency in Australian Accounting Standards, US GAAP and/or insurance regulatory capital standards

2. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Power BI and advanced Excel skills. Anaplan knowledge

3. Familiarity with APRA reporting standards for general insurers

4. US GAAP experience for insurance accounting

Education & Experience:

1. Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience (3 years post-qualification)

2. Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACA) is required.
