Fund Analyst

The Opportunity

As the Fund Analyst for the infrastructure sector funds, you will assist with the preparation and implementation of the investment strategies, financial models, the dynamics of portfolio returns and primary influences on those returns. Developing an understanding of the Funds portfolio and its key characteristics, drivers, risks and opportunities, your ability to build strong and respected relationships will enable you to assist and support the Fund Manager in delivering results.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

You will make an impact by:

• Assisting Fund Managers in the preparation of the Fund/Portfolio investment strategy, plans, models, etc.

• Managing relationships with internal stakeholders primarily Asset Managers, Transaction Managers and Finance

• Assisting in the preparation of marketing materials and presentations, working closely with the Investor Relations and Marketing teams

• Analysing the strategic and financial impact of acquisitions and divestments and perform other financial analysis

• Providing analytical support for fund restructuring, capital events, asset realisations and related party transfers, including preparation of supporting materials for Investment Committee and Board approval

About You  

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline

• 5 years’ experience in infrastructure, real asset, transactions, investment banking or related analytical role

• Thorough understanding of the real assets market – most likely gained from direct experience in one or more real asset sectors

• Strong analytical skills, DCF and other valuation methodologies, investment return calculations and portfolio/fund modelling, willingness to learn and develop new skill sets

• Knowledge of investment markets and valuation

• Highly skilled in financial modelling and analysis, with the capability to develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and attribution analysis of financial performance. Experience with long-dated discounted cash flow, regulated or contracted revenue, and project finance and debt structures is highly regarded.
