About the Role

BDO is looking for a Marketing Lead to step into a leadership role within our Clients & Markets team, responsible for shaping the firm’s marketing agenda and leading its delivery. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, you’ll translate strategy into a disciplined, high-impact program of work that strengthens BDO’s brand to drive measurable outcomes through prioritisation, execution governance and strong team leadership.  

This role will suit a commercially minded marketing leader who thrives on building relationships with leaders in complex, partner-led B2B environments and knows how to build momentum through integrated campaigns and demand generation programs. You will also have a demonstrated ability to leverage CRM and marketing automation to improve targeting and performance and elevate thought leadership to convert intellectual capital into genuine market cut-through. Just as importantly, you’ll uplift capability, enhance ways of working, and develop a high-performing national team to help take BDO to the next level in brand strength, client engagement and growth. 

 

Key priorities will be within the following areas: 

Marketing planning and leadership  

  • Lead the annual marketing plan and ensure alignment to strategy  

  • Lead and develop a high performing national team  

  • Operate as part of the Marketing & Communications leadership team 

Go-to-market and business development alignment 

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to plan, align and deliver coordinated sector, client and market campaigns 

  • Support key account programs through targeted campaigns, thought leadership and activation  

  • Coordinate between marketing programs and BD activity to maximise market impact and client engagement 

Campaigns, demand generation and marketing performance 

  • Lead the planning and delivery of national marketing campaigns, including demand generation objectives, leverage CRM and marketing automation platforms 

  • Own campaign performance and ROI 

  • Ensure marketing activity is insight led and outcome focused whilst being commercially accountable 

Thought leadership and market visibility 

  • Lead the planning and activation of thought leadership and content programs 

  • Work with National Leaders and thought leaders to translate intellectual capital into meaningful thought leadership and campaigns 

Marketing capability, alignment and continuous improvement 

  • Uplift marketing capability, systems and ways of working across the team 

  • Embed best practice planning, execution, measurement and governance 

  • Work closely with Brand and Digital leaders to ensure strong alignment, integration and consistency. 

About You 

This position is suited to an individual with: 

  • Demonstrated experience in senior marketing leadership roles, ideally within professional services, advisory, consulting or complex B2B environments. 

  • Proven experience leading national marketing function or teams of 20+ people and delivering integrated marketing strategies. 

  • Strong capability across go to market planning, campaigns and thought leadership. 

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business development teams in partner led environments.  

  • Proven ability to build a high performing team culture focused on continuous improvement, capability uplift and disciplined execution. 

  • Experience leveraging CRM and marketing automation platforms to deliver measurable demand generation, including segmentation, nurture journeys, and funnel reporting. 

  • An openness to leveraging AI and technology to enhance operations and marketing effectiveness. 

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience owning marketing performance metrics and campaign ROI.  

  • Experience operating effectively in matrixed, multi office organisations.  

  • Proven ability to lift capability, set standards and lead change within marketing functions.  

  • Strong stakeholder management capability, with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders and Partners in complex environments. 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related discipline.
