Responsibilities include analysing claims, calculating payments, communicating with customers and advisers, coordinating with medical, legal, rehabilitation and treating professionals, participating in case conferences, instructing service providers, and delivering timely, empathetic outcomes in line with policies and procedures.

Supports finance systems projects through business process definition, configuration, testing, user acceptance testing, post-live support, documentation, upgrades, and issue resolution. Partners with Finance, business analysts, project managers, users, and outsourced IT providers. The role requires equal technical and functional capability across finance modules, system integrations, SQL, debugging, ERP and financial planning platforms.

Manage a portfolio of lump sum life insurance claims in accordance with policy terms, claims procedures, regulations, and industry standards. Provide proactive communication and empathetic service to customers, advisers, trustees, and fund administrators. Support compliance, quality assurance, governance, process improvement, change initiatives, and departmental projects while maintaining accurate, high-quality claims outcomes.

Analyze complaints trends, emerging and systemic issues, and customer feedback to identify insights and recommend improvements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, support complaints governance and reporting, reduce risk, and partner with stakeholders to improve claims and customer outcomes.

Serve as the first point of contact for life insurance customers, resolving queries, completing administrative tasks, handling escalations and complaints, and following privacy and compliance requirements. Identify recurring issues, collaborate with other teams, and support colleagues while completing approximately 10 weeks of full-time training. The role requires full-time availability on a rotating Monday-to-Friday roster between 8am and 7pm NSW time.

Lead technical governance and best-practice standards for Total and Permanent Disability claims. The role guides complex claim decisions, oversees medical examination providers, strengthens regulatory compliance, delivers coaching and training, and drives continuous improvement across Group and Individual claims teams.
